Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to add adjustment layer in Premiere Pro:

1. Import and drag your video into the timeline.
2. Click on Project Panel
3. Click File > New > Adjustment Layer – A settings window will appear.
4. Click OK – The adjustment layer will be created in the Project panel.
5. Drag the Adjustment Layer – Place it above your video in the timeline.
6. Position the Playhead (CTI) at the exact point where you want to trim the adjustment layer
7. Then press [Ctrl + K] on Windows or [Cmd + K] on Mac to cut.
8. Select the unwanted portion of the adjustment layer and press Delete
9. Select the adjustment layer and add effects from the Effects panel.
